SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Your role would be as a full-time Senior Accountant working within the accounting division alongside supportive team members with opportunity for further career growth. 

Key details:

  • Hours would be 37.5 per week working from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.

  • Taking applications now.

 

Key roles and responsibilities for the role:

  • Working with a diverse client base including providing taxation and business support and assistance

  • Preparation of accurate and timely financial statements on an annual basis or as required for a variety of entities including Companies, Trusts, Partnership and Sole Traders.

  • Preparation of Income Tax returns, Business Activity Statements, Fringe Benefits Returns and TPAR Reports including lodgement with the ATO

  • Processing payments, invoices, income, and receipts and entering data into accounting software, and liaison with clients as appropriate

  • Preparation of employee wages, including management of employee expense claims, and registration and lodgement of STP reports with the ATO

  • Reconciliation of bank accounts, superannuation, PAYG withholding.

  • Corresponding with the Australian Taxation Office

  • Liaise with clients as required

  • Review peer work for accuracy

  • Mentor and support fellow team members

 

Qualifications, skills, and experience required:

  • A successful applicant will need to have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar

  • CA or CPA would be advantageous

  • 5+ years’ experience in general or tax accounting would be ideal

  • Interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Communication skills, including the ability to explain financial matters/issues to both clients and colleagues

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel

  • Familiarity with Xero Accounting, Workpapers & Practice Manager, and Practice Ignition would be beneficial

  • High attention to detail
